Experiencing the same problem here. Im a 100% CLI User. Therefore the UI can look as pretty as it looks, but its quite more effort just to check a state of an item.
Meanwhile im quite frustrated that every update of openhab the update makes things not working anymore or changes its functions, so many rework is needed

New Functions and extensions are very nice and i really appreciate your work, but dont force users to work with openhab like you imagine.
We are not forcing anybody to use openHAB in a certain way. New functions like semantic tagging don‘t have to be used, you can work with your config files like before. If there is something not working, this is not intended and we should figure out why.
As for the logs, I did not see that issue in my test and productive environment. They got filled like before.
