It’s too late for OH5 now, but I would love native presence detection. Now I rely on tado, but if they shut down their API calls, that might become a problem.
But why could the openHAB Android and iOS apps not detect location on the background (like e.g. the tado app can), and send it to the openHAB server? The server could then do some ‘this is close enough’ calculation.
Or is there a reason that’s impossible?
