Im trying to get started with smarthome and want to try Openhab2 on My NAS . I have no previous experiance with smarthome.
Synology ds211j fully updated. By a miracle i managed to create public file and install Java 8 SE thru package center. log says Java install succsessful, then installed openhab2 same way. Log states install succsessful. Openhab2 apears in control centre but i cant Get IT started , a dialog box appears saying comming soon.
What to do?

Snapshot 7 definitely works on a ds214play.
Openhab takes a long while to start up, about 5 minutes for me. It might take even longer on your less powerful NAS.
How long are you waiting before deciding it doesn’t work?
Iwe waited for 15-20 minutes or so, and im lossing contact with the nas now, hope my files are Ok. Looking into scrapping the nas and try rasberry insted.

Did you ever get this to work? I’m having the exact same issue now with a DS413J (after also miraculously managing to install Java, against the odds!)
I’m wondering if this is the right place to install or should I just give up and get a Raspberry

I never got this working. I dont trust the NAS anyway, its not stable.
