I think you are talking about the modified hue version? Because in the original version the slider behaves exactly like that (low → cold, high → warm) but with a Kelvin instead of a percentage range.
What you could do is to create a proxy item that receives the command and a rule that translates the command to 100 - command. Then you could just use the widget as it is.
