OH3 Crashing after 2 to 7 days uptime

OH3 had been running with a few niggles for a few months, however just recently, maybe over the last 2 months its been crashing. The Pi rejects SSH during the crash, web browser finds the Basic UI but sits forever with the blue spinning ring.
Only method of recovery is to power down via an un-plug and power back up. After the power up it runs fine as if nothing has happened except for missing trend data for the period of the crash.
I’m constantly updating the software to try (hope) it fixes it!
Time of Day does not seem to be a trigger as it happens at any time as far as I can see.

Key message.

Start here?

You fail to explain what OS and environment you use.
You very likely didn’t tune the Java mem parameters.
Your best choice is to move to openHABian as it takes care of all that stuff.

PS next time use code fences please

To close off this thread, I’m not 100% sure of the solution.
Following the link from @rossko57 I implemented a few changes almost at the same time as I was just about to go on holiday. Changes like reducing the amount of items in any .item file as i’ve over 250 items on the system, not leaving VS code open, modifying the Java memory parameters etc.
Even with these changes the memory usage seemed to be creeping up over a day (I stress ‘seemed to be creeping up’ but I didn’t have the time to fully test it).
The one thing that I think fixed the issue, I had defined the same item in 2 separate .items files, basically defining the same item twice.
Once I deleted one of the items the memory usage looked like it stabilised and its been running for 3 months without issue.

A few days ago updated to 3.2.0 Build #2469 and still no issues.

Thanks
John
