Onkyo Binding TV Power

I am trying to wake up my Panasonic Viera TV but when in standby it doesn’t respond to the Panasonic binding. Turns off fine when switched on by the Panasonic remote.

I have been able to wake the TV using the HDMI CEC (RIHD) link from the Onkyo 609 amplifier by pressing the “TV power” button on the Onkyo remote.

Is this control implemented in the Onkyo binding ? I cant seem to find it.

On http://docs.openhab.org/addons/bindings/onkyo1/readme.html it says that there are more advanced commands available, by following a link to another website it shows an Excel file with all the possible commands. The command (TV Power ON with RIHD) you mention is shown on the last worksheet in the Excel file, maybe it is a pointer to solve this.

Good luck!

Thanks. Looks like I need to figure out how to pass those parameters.

Hello,

Did you find a way to get this configuration working ?

I’m trying to turn my Samsung TV on/off using the CEC commands from an Onkyo TX-NR656 but did not get success yet.

I’ve created two switches (for test only):

Switch avrLrZ1_TVPowerON “PowerOFF” [ “Switchable” ] { channel=“onkyo:onkyoAVR:avr-livingroom:zone1#PWROFF” }
Switch avrLrZ1_TVPowerOFF “PowerON” [ “Switchable” ] { channel=“onkyo:onkyoAVR:avr-livingroom:zone1#CTVPWRON” }

Trying to figure it out.

Any suggestions ?

Luiz

I have different model TV and Amp. It works with my Onkyo/Panasonic TV. I just use Panasonic TV CEC feature to turn TV on and Off when AMplifier turns on or off. I could not get Onkyo to send command to TV using binding, tried various options in the spreadsheet.

My Samsung TVs are not connected to Onkyo Amplifiers. I notice that when controlled directly from the Samsung binding that they will turn off, but will not turn on from standby. I have to use the remote to turn them on.

Sorry I can’t be more help.
