Openhab 3 showing openhab 2 UI

Hi all,

I’ve been running OH 2 for a while and decided to create a VM to run OH3 tonight. I’ve got the OH 3 service installed on ubuntu 20 and no OH2 services are showing. However, when I access the IP:8080 I still see the OH2 interface. Is there anything I can do to fix this aside for a new install or something I am missing?

Need more Information. What exactly is showing? empty sitemap?
Maybe clear your browser cache.
did you delete the old OH2 VM?

If you still have the OH2 vm running it is already using port 8080 if you want both running you need to change the ports used for one of them.

how did you install OH3 on your Ubuntu machine ?
via apt / aptitude or via openhabian-config or even as appliance ?
In case of apt / aptitude / openhabian-config what does the output of

dpkg -l 'openhab*'

In case of openhabian-config make sure to select the correct branch for OH3.
In case of the appliance I am not sure ( according to the download page it looks like it is version 2.5.5 ) if there is an OH3 appliance that is offered on the canonical page.
In case you see the OH2 Paper UI your installation must be OH2 and not OH3.

When I listed the services only openhab 3 is present I think I am gonna try again but this is odd.

that is what I get. An OH 2 screen. I suspect user error but not sure after a while of trying to figure it out.

I got the install working, not sure where I messed up but all working now. Thanks for the help guys.
