I just finished some refactoring of the openhab-alexa skill to eliminate duplicate code and to enable support for OH1. This fork introduces support for OH1 and also allows an alternative way to define which items should be used by Alexa, as explained in this issue. Besides homekit tags, a dedicated group can be used to define items that should be discovered by Alexa.

My intention is to merge the code for that smarthome skill with the code of this custom skill so that the code base is the same. I already explained some of my ideas in this issue.

It seems as if nobody is interested in a skill for OH1?!

This is why I did not create a PR for my changes but rather a PR for removing OH1 support from the skill.
