{openhab.home} for OH2

Which one is it for OH2 installed from deb as there quite a lot of dirs created

See here: http://docs.openhab.org/installation/apt.html (go down to File locations)

Well if {openhab.home} is /usr/share/openhab2/

Where shoul i put the file for the action playSound(“clock_gong.wav”)

As having an item in /usr/share/openhab2/sounds

Still renders an error no matter if full or just a file name are given

Cannot play sound '/usr/share/openhab2/sounds/clock_gong.wav': runtime/sounds/usr/share/openhab2/sounds/clock_gong.wav (No such file or directory)

Or

Cannot play sound '/usr/share/openhab2/sounds/clock_gong.wav': runtime/sounds/usr/share/openhab2/sounds/clock_gong.wav (No such file or directory)

What’s your definition? the path is doubled…

Well in the rules now i have

playSound("clock_gong.wav")

But as i’ve mentioned i also tried a full path definition with no luck

2016-06-26 10:20:02.320 [ERROR] [.openhab.io.multimedia.actions.Audio] - Cannot play sound 'clock_gong.wav': runtime/sounds/clock_gong.wav (No such file or directory)

And it is there

xxx@xxx:/usr/share/openhab2/runtime/sounds $ ls -l
total 3872
 -rwxr-xr-x 1 openhab pi 3860774 Apr 3 18:38 clock_gong.wav
 -rw-r--r-- 1 openhab openhab 102399 Jan 16 00:04 doorbell.mp3

Openhab is in the audio group

Does it play the doorbell.mp3?

playSound("doorbell.mp3")

nope

2016-06-26 18:04:00.048 [ERROR] [.openhab.io.multimedia.actions.Audio] - Cannot play sound 'doorbell.mp3': runtime/sounds/doorbell.mp3 (No such file or directory)

hmmm… that’s very strange. At least the demo should work flawless, so I guess, there has something gone wrong when setting up OH2 through apt-get. Maybe an apt-get purge openhab2-online (or -offline) and reinstall OH2 would solve this issue.

Did you manage to find a solution?

I moved away from the apt install hoping one of the latest builds would address the problem, but I still cannot get it working, although the file is there and permissions are fine.

 Cannot play sound 'doorbell.mp3': runtime/sounds/doorbell.mp3

Well currently utilising exec action together with aplay.
