Openhab not able to access network

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: intel i5 laptop
    • OS: windows 11
    • Java Runtime Environment: _17
    • openHAB version: 4.0.0.M3
  • Issue of the topic: I switched my instance of openhab 4.0.0.M3 to a new computer running windows 11

Since I switched nothing can get out of the local network

Mail messages are not going out
broadcast messages are not going out
Openhab cannot communicate with the openweathermap server

On the other hand MQTT works

I know the problem is with the computer because the same instance on a different computer works with no problem. I can browse the internet from that computer so I know it is connected. I can also get to the openhab web server from any computer on the local network.

I have turned off the firewall for every network, public and private, and I have all the app protection settings turned off
If anyone has seen this problem and been able to solve it, I would be grateful for some pointers.

Than you

I kind of recall running into something similar where Openhab was unable to resolve external DNS requests seems like I had to go into Openhab administration network settings then check the advanced box then move the IPv6 slider to off (disabled) and restarted Openhab and it was able to resolve and then worked fine.
You may want to try that if you have not already windows 11 is a bit finicky on network access. Also make sure you have java environment set correctly and java security setting correct.

Removing IPv6 did it
Thank you
