openHAB on AndroidThings

Question/Idea: Is it possible to run openHAB on a Android-Device or even better on a “AndroidThings”-Device?

Background: Google provides a new OS for IoT Devices (AndroidThings). There are a couple of advantages:

  • “direct” access to hardware (I2C, SPI, GPIO, …)
  • serveral drives/services available (bluetooth, wireless mesh, google assistant, tensor flow, …)
  • Over The Air (OTA) update with A/B partitioning

I think it would be realy cool, if you can run openhab with all the existing bindings in a “safe” environment with remote update mechanism.

What do you think?
