openHAB SU Password on MAC install

    • Hardware: iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) 3.2Ghz Intel Core i3, 12 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
    • OS: macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.2
    • Java Runtime Environment: openjdk version "1.8.0_152"
      OpenJDK Runtime Environment (Zulu 8.25.0.1-macosx)(build 1.8.0_152-b16)
      OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (Zulu 8.25.0.1-macosx) (build 25.152-b16, mixed mode)
    • openHAB version: 2.1.0
  • Issue of the topic: Password

Fresh install, following step by step the online instructional manual. However, when I need to access or run SU SUDO commands from the console I am prompted for a Password. I tried the “openhab:habopen” password without luck.

Please help.

The password is whatever the account you are running the terminal where you are entering the command is running as. This is not something controlled by openHAB. It is controlled by the operating system.
