OpenHABIAN eth0 stopped working - troubleshoot or recover?

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3+
    • OS: OpenHABian with OpenHAB 2.4
  • Issue of the topic: please be detailed explaining your issue

Without any known changes, my openhab installation does not bring up the eth0 interface anymore after a reboot. I have the root install moved to a SSD drive.

Troubleshooting is difficult as I can’t seem to get the keyboard to recognize the right keyboard layout, having tried resetting through openhabian-config and dpkg-reconfigure. I still appear to have a UK-configured keyboard even though I’ve removed all it appears I can. C.UTF-8 is the first layout listed over en_US.UTF-8.

I have another pi I can try to move the install to, if the hardware has gone bad (no change). If I want to go in this direction, what is the best way to proceed?

Welp - doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue.
But I can’t tell that I am, for sure, running off of the USB Drive…

Remove the sdcard completely. The Pi 3+ is able to boot from usb directly. If it boots, it’s booting from usb.
