OpenhHAB: Switch to demo mode

Hi

I used the “standard” option in the UI after installing openHABian. I’d like to have all the demo objects etc. I guess I can just add the demo-files in this folders?
/etc/openhab2/sitemaps
/etc/openhab2/items
/etc/openhab2/things

Or what else is the propper way to switch between “beginner”, “expert” and “demo” mode?

In /etc/openhab2/services/addons file you can change the package option by un-commenting the package and type demo e.g. package = demo

ah, yes, that’s what I was lookning for, thank you H102 :+1:

So I can leave this “packe = demo” entry in the /etc/openhab2/services/addons.cfg file and use it for production? There’s no problem with updates etc. later on?

I haven’t tested to verify but can’t see why it wouldn’t.

Files in /etc/openhab2 do not get replaced during upgrades. All the files there are safe.
