[SOLVED] Pioneer Binding fails on controling an VSX-S520 (Model 2016)

While Autodiscovering does work well, the device is being found as an an ipAvrUnsupported - one.
Example-Channel:
pioneeravr:ipAvrUnsupported:b0eb30b1-00b1-40BB-b000-0009b0eb40b1:zone1#power

The discovered Port (23) is not active at all. Trying nmap show me the following result:
Discovered open port 80/tcp on 192.168.1.89
Discovered open port 8080/tcp on 192.168.1.89
Discovered open port 8888/tcp on 192.168.1.89
Discovered open port 10001/tcp on 192.168.1.89
Discovered open port 8008/tcp on 192.168.1.89
Discovered open port 8009/tcp on 192.168.1.89
Discovered open port 5000/tcp on 192.168.1.89

Unfortunately none of there ports does work.
Another Pioneer AVR (VSX-529) does work well (except absolute Volume Values) …

Maybe someone can give a helping hint . .?
THANKS!!

@D_Reich

Default port normally is 8102 TCP.

EDIT: You can also try port: 60128

Maybe it’s using the Onkyo-API, you also can try Onkyo binding.

Thanks for the tipps !

So these ports behave the same way :frowning: … The ONLINE in the Things Configuration shortly appears and goes back to offline. No communication is possible…

As the Pioneer Thing was autodeteced, i didn’t try the Onkyo Binding the manual way so far…

… Will also try this as next step…

See also this topic:

“The binding with PioneerAVR doesn’t work but Onkyo binding works well.”

And this topic:

And the reason, why they (Pioneer/Onkyo) may be compatible, is:

The remote APPs of both companies (since 2016) look like the same and both have the same version 1.11.1 of the same date.

Any news on this?

Yes … YES … YES !!
Thanks a lot !! It works!

The golden Tip was using the Onkyo - Binding (Newest available)… with:
Things-Config: onkyo:onkyoAVR:avr-livingroom [ipAddress=“192.168.1.89”, port=60128]
Power ON/OFF channel-link for example is: onkyo:onkyoAVR:avr-livingroom:zone1#power
…and all other available links (Mute/Volume Dimmer (!) / and … Input Set)

I know the newer pioneer receivers work with the onkyo bindings but has anyone gotten this to work with the pioneer binding as it does state my model is compatible with the 2019 thing. I ask because the pioneer binding has a “playing listen mode” channel that tells the current surround status and this would be key to auto muting commercials on Hulu that are quite loud. (Shows play in full surround but for now commercials are all stereo)
