When I open up file station to examine the folder, the install did not download any sub-folder in either SmartHome/openHAB or public/openHAB2

I am not very familiar with Linux. so I am doing a lot of on the job learning. Can anyone with experience help guide me

The 256 MB of memory might not be enough for running openHAB. Does it show how much memory is still available?

It might be similar to the performance issues with the Synology DS119j (also 256MB RAM):

On my Raspberry Pi OpenHAB plus the OS take about half of my 1Gb of RAM

Wborn

I don’t have a way to see the remaining memory, but as I look at systems health indicator, I am at 75% when nothing is actually running with 8.2 MB remaining, this sucks because this unit can not have the memory upgraded either.

Maybe it makes sense to use that money for buying a Raspberry Pi 4 instead? openHAB will fly on it and with openHABian it will be easier to update and better supported in this forum.

The biggest downsides are of course yet another computer to connect/maintain and openHABian doesn’t have a nice web based management UI like Synology does.
