Question on version numbers

Im am on my Raspi3B+ and run Openhabian.
Yesterday I updated to OpenHab 3 and have a question on it:

Yesterday inside the openhabian config tool window it says

You are about to install or change to the latest stable openHAB3 release.

But if I run the ssh console in the welcome message of OpenHABian it says:

openHAB 2.5.12-1

What does that mean? Do I have OpenHAB 2.5.12-1 or OpenHAB 3 now?

I’ve seen it reported that sometimes, depending on how the upgrade was performed, the login prompt is looking in the wrong location for the version number. All that prompt does is read the contents of /var/lib/openhab/etc/versions.properties. But OH 3 moved to /var/lib/openhab (no 2 at the end). When you bring up the main page does it look different?
