Really basic Problem with Network Health [fixed]

Hi folks,
I already used the searchbox, but to no avail.
I’m trying to have the OpenHAB display the status of one of my servers. (Just on and off).
So I came accross Network Health. The examples seem quite straight forward, so I just put this line in my items-file:
Switch server1 (Network) {nh=“”}
If I understood correctly the switch should be ON when the server is reachable, but it stays off.
I added a switch which executes a rule to quickly check:
Item TestSwitch received command
logInfo(“info”, “in here”)
logInfo(“info”, "Server 1 State " + server1.state)

So everytime I click my Switch “TestSwitch” I can see
2015-10-23 13:37:30.047 [INFO ] [org.openhab.model.script.Info ] - in here
2015-10-23 13:37:30.047 [INFO ] [org.openhab.model.script.Info ] - Server 1 State Uninitialized

I searched for the Uninitialized but found no solution. Is it checked regularly by Network Health?
And yes, I added the Network Health Binding to the Addons folder.

Maybe a stupid question to ask, but I am really new to the topic

Did you add org.openhab.binding.networkhealth-1.7.1.jar to your addons folder?

Yes, I did :frowning:

I defined the item for my phone like this

Switch Phone_WIFI   "OnePlus 2"   (Status, Network)   { nh="" }

I see you only got (Network) in, not sure if it makes a difference, but worth a try. :slight_smile:

Fixed it. Everything was fine, I just accidentally copied the Binding to the wrong folder :frowning:
Shame on me

It doesn’t make a difference. The stuff in “( )” are the groups the item belongs to. The switch should work regardless of group membership.

I thought so. Glad you fixed it!
