Recommendations for an Ethernet based hub that supports others like zwave?

Apologies if this is not the right forum for it, but looking for the best openhab compatible hub to get that has ethernet options, not wifi only. Seems like everything has wifi, zwave, etc, and I’m looking for something that isn’t susceptible to range limits, jamming, weather, etc.

Also looking for a proximity alarm that is laser versus broad sweep with a big motion detector. I’d like to setup a laser line and shoot it 3 feet off the ground around the property so racoons and cats aren’t constantly tripping it off.

Thank you for any advice, and apologies if this isn’t the right forum.

Ethernet has a range limit of 300 meters.

Z-Wave is shorter distance but less prone to interference and designed for long battery life. There is the upcoming Z-Wave Plus v2 LR that will have an expected range of up to 1 mile l1ne of sight.

Smart Home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi devices are prone to interference and battery hongry. In addition, many require Internet access.

Not laser, watched too many movies
