Hi everyone,
Actually, my first post here was supposed to be a short introduction and a report on my first positive experiences with openHAB. I am completely new to both openHAB (5.14) and the Linux (mint 22.3 xfce**)** world, and I was initially very excited about the possibilities. Unfortunately, that excitement was cut short.
For over a week now, I have been trying in vain to register on myopenhab.org. Every time I submit the form, I get the following error:
Error:
/opt/openhabcloud/views/login.ejs:12 10| 11| >> 12| <% if (returnTo) { %> 13| 14| <% } %> 15|
As a Linux beginner, I naturally assumed the mistake was on my end. I thought I had copied the UUID or Secret incorrectly or had fundamentally broken something during the Linux installation. In the end, I spent 2.5 days troubleshooting: checking UUIDs/Secrets countless times, rebuilding containers, and finally reinstalling the entire Linux operating system multiple times just to rule out any errors on my part.
I’ve only just realized that it’s probably a server-side scripting error on the website.
My sincere request to the admins:
I understand that this is a community-driven project. However, a small notice on the website or the status page indicating that registration is currently broken would have saved me days of completely pointless work. Unfortunately, a system can be very frustrating for new users if the first hurdle (connecting to the cloud) simply “crashes” without any explanation or warning..
My questions to the community:
-
Is there an ETA for when the bug in
login.ejson the server will be fixed? -
As a new user, what is the best way to find out when registration is working again without having to try the form manually several times a day?
I hope to soon be able to discover the positive sides of openHAB once this cloud hurdle is resolved.
Best regards,
Rai
