# RXTX fhs\_lock() Error: opening lock file: /var/lock/LCK..ttyUSB0: File exists. It is mine

@Kai it looks like the openHAB nrjavaserial fork had a [commit](https://github.com/cvanorman/nrjavaserial/commit/be9568134653a81dc8f1b673c4c6a6a120219c09) which disabled lock files.

See also this [comment](https://github.com/openhab/openhab-core/issues/101#issuecomment-269449285) by @cvanorman before the fork was used.

It doesn’t look like the official nrjavaserial code contains these changes.

We started [using the offical nrjavaserial release](https://github.com/openhab/openhab-core/pull/366) again around July 15th.

There is another [community thread](https://community.openhab.org/t/nrjavaserial-upgrade-causes-serial-error-port-dev-ttyacm0-does-not-exist/18783) about these lock file issues before these lock files were disabled in the OH fork.
