I know this might not be the ideal platform for my question, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway.
I’m looking for a (battery-powered soil moisture sensor) for my garden (example in the picture below). There are many available on the market, but I’m having trouble finding one that can integrate directly with OpenHAB — ideally via MQTT, Wi-Fi, or Zigbee, without relying on any cloud services.
If anyone has a solution or suggestion that meets these criteria, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I am using a moisture sensor from ecowitt: the WH51. it communicates via radio with a gateway, the frequency depends on the continent. You can find it on Amazon (at least in Italy). There are many clones and many infos are found on the [Wiki].(start [Wiki - Fine Offset Ecowitt Ambient Weather Stations (and clones)]). Finally it works with the openhab fine offset binding.
