Sitemaps created in Main UI become un-savable on RPi4

Environment:

openHAB Version: 5

Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4

Installation: openHABian

Problem Description:

I am creating sitemaps exclusively through the Main UI (Settings → Pages). After a period of normal use, the sitemap becomes un-editable. When I try to add a new item or make a change and click “Save”, the action does not complete, and the changes are lost. No error message is displayed on the screen.

This issue is recurring. It first happened with my original sitemap. I created a completely new, second sitemap, which worked correctly for a while but has now developed the exact same problem, becoming un-savable.

have you kept the sitemap page open in the browser? try reopening it before editing.

Yes I kept sitemap page open, I tried cleaning the history of browser also restarted the openhab server. Even I had tried with mobile app Main UI same problem..

Have you checked for warnings or errors in the log that might be relevant?

There is a know issue that will be resolved with the first patch release: Sitemap edit: Fix save button not working due to JSON error by florian-h05 · Pull Request #3300 · openhab/openhab-webui · GitHub

After updating to 5.0.1 still save button is not working

I think you’re waiting for this as well - which isn’t merged yet:

Hello there, I have this issue too.
No warnings/error in the log.

openHAB 5.0.1 Release Build
Main UI Commit 540f6daf

Is there a workaround until the fix is backported?

I can’t answer the workaround part, but it has been backported - sadly, there has been no release since the backport was made. The fix should be in 5.0.2 when that arrives.
