The lines where u add the triggers to pass to openhab, are the control codes return/newline or ?
You mean the §N ? That is substitued with the new value of the variable the trigger is for.

the ibrew console gives errors when setting triggers, it appears to need a group for the triggers?
Copy-pasting the commands would be way easier than typing them all 
The group for the triggers is the third parameter to the command, so openHAB in this case.

does this need to be setup in ibrew as when i nmap the machine with it running that port is not open/available, it does appear to start according to the ibrew responce
