[SOLVED] Cannot connect to habpanel from remote via openHAB app on Android phone

On the android phone (Nexus 6P Android (7.1.2)), in the openhab app, the fields openHAB URL, and openHAB Remote URL are set to https://home.myopenhab.org/habpanel/index.html
When launching the app I see “Connecting to local URL” (I’m connected to the local network at home)
followed by a dialog box with the message “Ok”.Clicking on it shows a blank screen. Clicking on openHAB Info shows:

openHAB Version - Unknown
openHAB UUID - Unknown
Google Cloud Message Status - Device registration failed with Sender ID null

If I change the fields openHAB URL, and openHAB Remote URL to https://home.myopenhab.org the app connects without problem and shows the basicui. Clicking on openHAB Info shows:

openHAB Rest API Version - 0.9.0.b5
openHAB UUID - some number that looks valid
Google Cloud Message Status - Device registration failed with Sender ID null

Note: the link works from the desktop (Ubutnu 16.04) via regular web browsers (Firefox, Chrome). In an Android phone (Nexus 6P Android 7.1.2) it works via the Chrome web browser, but not from the android openhab app (version 1.8.0.7)

I wonder why the openHAB app can connect remotely via myopenhab, with basicui but not to habpanel?
Thanks

That is because the openhab-app does show the sitemap like the BasicUI or ClassicUI, which the habpanel does NOT!

On your setup of the openhab-app you should not use the myopenhab adress for the LOCAL URL (no Need to go via the Internet to the local Server), just use “hhtp://YourServerIP:8080”
