Yea, it makes sense but I will run the updates every X seconds anyway so if I run a “service script” and from it do updates or form OH cron rule call the updating script it will behave pretty much the same (I think). If later at some point I will run into some problems switching to service option won’t consume much too time.
No quite. If you set it as a service then no openHAB threads are affected
If you run a regular cron rule, everytime you run that rule you are using a thread. And you only have 5 in openHAB. If you can avoid writing a rule and have a service do the job (A bit like a binding) then I think you should do it.
