My laggy tasmota devices were caused by internet issues and ntp server sync. If you do not have local ntp server and set it in tasmota like ntpserver1 192.168.1.5 then you have to have correct internet settings/connection to get time sync on device otherwise there are huge lags or switch become unresponsive after restart,
