I was actually just looking at JSR223, jython looks pretty cool. You could made an object and then convert that to a string using json parse or something. Then just store that object as an Item. So you just need two Items, one with all the information and that the rules use and the other just raw direct control of the item. See my post here Xtend Scripts vs JSR223? - #4 by lsafelix75
