Thermostat Homekit metadata for TargetTemperature

I have a Honeywell T6 PRO Z-WAVE THERMOSTAT
I’m trying to add it to my Home app with the Homekit addon

I have no idea what to place in the required TargetTemperature Characteristic

My Thermostat has heating and cooling setpoint channels and a current temperature channel but no target temperature chanel

There seems to be an “impedance mismatch” between the idea of a target temperature and heat/cool setpoints.

Any suggestions?

yes, there is mismatch of concepts or a “bug” in apple specification. but target temperature is required. you can either create “virtual item”, i.e. item with no link to any things/channel, or use current temperature as target temperature.

you need to see how the visualisation in home app will then work - in my case it shows current and target temperature.
