I just upgraded to 4.3.
Somehow I can’t edit my old things anymore. The channel overview and the thing’s code have disappeared.
I can only delete or copy things.
If a thing like e.g. If you want to use the BMW Thing with a new Captcha code, it won’t work.
Do I now have to copy all things and reconnect all items to the channels?
With over 1000 things, that’s a huge effort! Is there a trick how I can continue to use the old things with the channels?
Are you viewing this through the cloud server (i.e. myoenhab.org)? If so this is a known issue that has been fixed. I suspect the fix will be backported to 4.3.1 but for now only exists in the snapshots. If should work just fine when accessed through the local network instead of the cloud server.
Thank you. Yes, I did it through myopenhab.org.
Because I’m on an imac and unfortunately there’s no app for it in the app store. So I can only access the UI on the imac via myopenhab.org.
But thanks for the tip, I’ll have to make the changes on the iPad.
You don’t have to go through myopenhab.org to access OH if you iMac is on the same network.
http://<openHAB machine>:8080
https://<openHAB machine>:8443
<openHAB machine> is either going to be the IP address of the machine where openHAB is running or often it can be the hostname. For example, for an openHABian installed on an RPi the hostname will be “openhabian” so the addresses will be
http://openhabian:8080
https://openhabian:8443
It’s using a self signed cert so ignore the scary warning if you use 8443.
The IP address will likley be 192.168.1.X where X is a number between 1 and 254.
And I’ve been using myopenhab.org on my imac for years to develop and adapt to my OH environment.
WOOOOOWWWWWW…
Thanks…
I think if there had been German instructions, I wouldn’t have lived with my “detour” all these years… The Google translator or the translator in the browser is not always helpful.
