It’s not, I was only talking about retrieving the state, not persistence.
As far as I’m aware, bindings are not allowed to interact with persistence under the same restrictions that bindings are not allowed to interact with Items directly either.
In those rare cases where I have a remote OH instance that is collecting data, I store it locally to that instance.
But also remember, I said up front I don’t really know about add-ons and definitely see reasons why an add-on would want to be able to inject data to persistence with more correct timestamps. But from a rules perspective, triggering rules with events that actually occur in the distant past or the future is problematic.
