Trigger actions on android tablet

  • Issue of the topic: I have an older Acer Android Tablet (can be rootet if necessary), and I want to trigger time-sheduled video playback through openhab. I’ve used Tasker and BSPlayer on the Tablet, but this is not reliable. My wish was to trigger a video playlist playback on a trigger (done by openhab), and a periodic check, if the tablet is still playing (sometimes bsplayer looses the conenction and the playback stops)

Any help would be highly appreciated!

If Tasker didn’t work for you I can’t think of any way to do this. The only way I can think of is to have OH send an SMS or NotifyMyAndroid message that Tasker reads and triggers a task to play the video.

There is nothing built into OH that can do anything on your tablet.
