Use case: expanding our BTicino system with openHAB and Shelly

Hi,

I am relatively new to the home automation world but now live in a house with an older BTicino system, which was installed in 2008. Now I had the need to expand this system with wireless components to install both controls and actuators in places where we have no connection to the bus.

I decided on openHAB as integration platform and Shelly for the wireless components and wrote a blog post on the steps needed for the integration:

The integration also relies on two upgrades I did previously to the BTicino system: moving it from jumper-based hardware configuration to software configuration with the My Home Suite, and upgrading our F420 scenario module to an MH202 scenario programmer. These upgrades are not yet related to openHAB but a prerequisite to the integration.
