When do you plugin the bluetooth device?

Alright, probably elementary question but I read through the bluetooth binding wiki and understand what I have to do to install bluecove and the binding. What I am not clear on is when do you plug in the device? should you plug it in then install bluecove? sometimes there is an order and i just dont want to go down the wrong path…

I suspect it doesn’t matter on Linux. Linux is fundamentally different in how it handles device drivers so order isn’t that big of a deal. Plus, bluecove needs to be able to work with machines that have BT built in.
