I need to install/setup a DB for MQTT.
Which DB / flavour etc. are members finding the best.
I run OH on synology.

From my experience there is no single or best.
Mapdb is good for restoreonstartup strategy
rrj4d is nice for built in charts
influxdb is nice for grafana charts
there are others with other good uses. I use the 3 listed above. I suppose I could cut out rrj4d at this point as im using mostly grafana stuff now.
I wouldn’t suggest using rrj4d for restoreonstartup. I was having terrible lagging that I finally traced back to rr. mapdb is perfect for that.
