I am sorry to hear about your experience.
I have been running 2.4 stable with 100+ Zwave devices (Fibaro and Aeotec) and lots of custom stuff I have developed that I integrate over HTTP/REST.
The application has been rock solid for me for 9 months - running as docker container, managed by docker-compose.
