I have a couple of the Smart Life IR controls. Is there a suitable binding for these devices? They use the ‘Smart Life’ app on my android.

Since it uses Smart Life, it’s a Tuya-based device that’s rebranded. If you search the forum, you’ll find a few methods to intergrate it with openHAB, but I don’t have experience with Tuya IR bridges so I don’t know how well it’ll work.
I have flashed similar item with TASMOTA and control using MQTT
