Is there any other option for a zigbee hub/bridge that can be used to read Xiamoi aqara sensors and that works with OpenHAB? I’d prefer not to have to buy the Xiaomi hub and an adapter as that won’t fit behind any furniture due to the thickness of the hub and adapter…

Zigbee2mqtt works well and supports numerous Xiamoi devices, no hub needed. Here’s a link https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt

Would this device work with mqtt? It has Zigbee and Z-wave, which would expand my capability…

I have no experience with that device but I think it will work fine. Other’s on the forum have good things to say about that USB stick. Try searching the forum with the device name.
