The developer mode for the firmware in my Xiaomi gateway only adds one option, not 2 as in the current documentation. It only has ‘Wireless communication protocol’. This works fine. I tried to create a PR, but I had some issues so I’m posting here. The Xiaomi gateway firmware I have is: “2.57.3”.
created a PR for this just yesterday I see 4 entries in total

wireless communication protocol
I am not able to see number at the bottom of the about screen. without the developer mode I am stuck at step 3.
I am running the latest Mi Home app on iOS.
1. Select your Gateway in the MiHome app 2. Go to the "..." menu on the top right corner and click "About" 3. Tap the version number "Plug-in version : 2.XX.X" at the bottom of the screen repeatedly until you enable developer mode 4. You should now have 2 extra options listed: `wireless communication protocol` and `hub info` 5. Choose `wireless communication protocol` 6. Tap the toggle switch to enable WiFi functions. Note down the developer key (aka password), something like: 91bg8zfkf9vd6uw7 7. Make sure you hit the OK button (to the right of the cancel button) to save your changes
Does anyone know a way to obtain the ‘Developer Key’ other than using the About tab of the Mi Home app that does not have it on mine.
I found the answer in this post.
