I just purchased a Aeotec door model ZW056-A. I’ve successfully paired the Aeotec doorbell (ZW056-A) with the Aeotec Z-Stick.
However I’m having a very difficult time getting this thing to work. I see nothing in my log files.
I have another Aeotec device, the Multisensor 6. I see that in my Openhab2 log files as NODE2 as well as the listed sensors for the device. But nothing for the doorbell.
There is communication between the physical door bell and the wall unit, in that if I press the doorbell the wall unit will ring.
Help would be appreciated to get this thing working.
This is what I originally thought. So, I go the trusty manual out for the device. I checked the section for unpairing the device and following the instructions for unpairing the device waiting for the correct display of lights to occur.
I then followed the directions, again, for pairing the doorbell with the z-stick. I pressed the appropriate button on the z-stick followed by the doorbell unit and waited for the network light on the z-stick to stop blinking. It did. Success! Or so I thought, still no node for the device.
Try doing the inclusion directly using openhab (PaperUI, or preferably HABmin) and see if that helps - or at least gives more information.
If I remember correctly, this device has 2 stages of pairing - the doorbell to the base (which is nothing to do with Z-Wave) and then the base to the Z-Wave stick?
Well I was having a number of other issues with OpenHAB2. Those were solved. I removed the Z-Stick thing and any other Z-wave devices from Aeotec. I then removed the Aeotec doorbell from the Aeotec Z-stick gateway and then paired the Aeotec doorbell base unit with the Aeotec Z-stick. All three Aeotec Z-Wave devices, the Z-Stick, the Multisensor and the doorbell appear in the OpenHAB2 things list. Now I just have to work on the items definitions. I’m still not seeing anything in the logs for the doorbell despite the fact the OpenHAB2 sees it as being NODE 7.
