Yes there is. I would advise removing it or locating it as a powered-up repeater somewhere
It is best to have the controller as centrally located as possible. IMO the “mesh” is overrated from a response perspective. My objective has been to place the controller to be in direct contact with as many nodes as possible. I use a spare controller reprogrammed as a Zniffer to analyze.
As I have bought Rpi’s I have split my Zwave networks. I have the house OH and upstairs Zwave (34 nodes) on a Rpi5. I have a twenty node Zwave-js Rpi4 in the basement (MQTT to the House OH). Lastly a small 4 node network of most remote nodes on a Rpi3b (OH remote binding to the House OH). Some of all that is to give me something to play with
, but you get the idea.
When I first started several years ago, I moved the Rpi3b (OH + ZW) from the basement (its original location) to main floor after experiencing problems.
