[SOLVED] Z Wave nano switch in France shows up unknown

Thank you so much @chris,

It worked. The binding org.openhab.binding.zwave-2.2.0-SNAPSHOT.jar was active.
Must do that " feature:install openhab-transport-serial " to make binding active.

Again, thank you so much

Hi there,
I’m having the same issue but it seems to be another (newer?) device?

I uninstalled the binding (not the thing, right?) and reinstalled it. Still having an “Unknown Device”.
As I see the thing has different manufacturer IDs in PaperUI and Habmin. ???habminpaperui

Can anybody help?

Hi,

I am having the same problem and I think it’s because I have the AU/NZ version of the Aeotec devices (Aeotec Duel Nano Switch with energy meeting ZW132-B). I get this:
Z-Wave Node 2 (0086:0203:0084:1.4)
Unknown Device

zwave:device:e622be53:node2

can you help me please!

Thanks,

These codes are already in the database, so the device should be found if youre using the latest snapshot at least.

Hi Chris,

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I am using:
https://openhab.ci.cloudbees.com/job/openHAB2-Bundles/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/bindings/org.openhab.binding.zwave/target/

and its showing:
211 | Active | 80 | 2.3.0.201803101457 | ZWave Binding

I cant find anything newer

not sure if this helps, this is what its coming up with:
Z-Wave Node 2 (0086:0203:0084:1.4)
Unknown Device

This device has not been fully discovered by the binding. There are a few possible reasons for this -:
The device is not in the database. If the device attributes show that this device has a valid manufacturer ID, device ID and type, then this is likely the case (eg. you see a label like “Z-Wave node 1 (0082:6015:020D::2.0)”). Even if the device appears to be in the database, some manufacturers use multiple sets of references for different regions or versions, and your device references may not be in the database. In either case, the database must be updated and you should raise an issue to get this addressed.
The device initialisation is not complete. Once the device is included into the network, the binding must interrogate it to find out what type of device it is. One part of this process is to get the manufacturer information required to identify the device, and until this is done, the device will remain unknown. For mains powered devices, this will occur quickly, however for battery devices the device must be woken up a number of times to allow the discovery phase to complete. This must be performed with the device close to the controller.

Status: ONLINE

zwave_class_basic ROUTING_SLAVE

As I said before, this device is already in the database so I’m not sure why it would not be discovered unless this addition was only added in the last few days (I think not though as the last update was 5 days ago).

Is there a different version I can try? even if it’s older.
is there a workaround?

I am not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated

Not really - you need to use the latest version. I would double check that this is the case.

You can try opening the JAR to see if the database file for your device is there, and if it really contains these values. Certainly the version on Github contains them, and I’m pretty confident that it should be detected.

Please can you format it so it’s readable?

not sure how to reformat. I will have to do some research

Use code fences - something like ```xml on the beginning and just the 3 dashes at the end should do.

thanks heaps, I have modified it now. look up

What version of OH are you using?

its 2.1.0 according to karaf. i downladed it last month

Time to upgrade to something newer - 2.2 has been out for 4 months…

not sure how this happened. i only got it recently. i will try this tonight. thanks alot for your help

problem solved!! if that 2.2 has been out for 4 month I seriously dont know how I got 2.1

thanks so much for your help Chris!

Hi,

I had ZW132 Dual Nano Switch with the following ID. Please help
0086:0003:0084:1.4

I’ve updated the database. I’ll do a binding update tonight or tomorrow.
