Using the Ember EM35x Coordinator on a Dual USB Nortek stick
This post is highly related to this post:
But I had a much more specific case that I wanted to document. I don’t have any logs to share but the behavior was highly repeatable.
I had a zigbee device battery die (very normal), I took the device into another room (might be related), and changed the battery. Soon after, about 10 battery devices all went OFFLINE within a few minutes. This is very similar to what I was trying to figure out in that other thread, but this time, I went to each device, removed the battery and re-inserted it, and it immediately rejoined and went ONLINE. I did this one by one for each OFFLINE device and in every case the device came back immediately.
Obviously having some logs would be great. I can see in my basic log the timing of each of the devices changing from ONLINE to OFFLINE, and it is within a few minutes of each other.
FYI - since the original failure (from Feb) , I’ve removed 50% of my zigbee devices and went to Wifi, so I have a lot fewer zigbee repeaters (MAINS Devices).
Also, the network has been rock solid up until this event just now.
Also, for reference, not sure if is related, but I have other oddities in some Zigbee devices.
If it occurs again (hope not!), I will enable Zigbee DEBUG logs before I do the battery unplug/plug.
