Assuming the device is fully discovered by openHAB, what we need is the xml file from the userdata/zwave folder and a link to an electronic copy of the user manual. The manua usually lists the configuration parameters as advanced settings.
I hope I have provided the right information. Once I get this one light switch working I will start to learn how to do all the other things. I just want to know I can do it first!!!
I need to have a little win, so I get the sense of achievement.
I need the xml file from openHAB.
On many Linux installations the file would be in the /var/lib/openhab2/zwave directory. There should be an xml file for each device node. I need the one for this particular node. It contains the information openHAB received from your device.
Excuse my ignorance I am very new to all this, generally once I do something once I won’t forget it but I haven’t created xml file yet. So I am a little in the dark.
Do I type /var/lib/openhab2/zwave into openhabian.
Im running openhabian on a Rasberry Pi through Putty.
Cheers Bruce.
Time to go back to the beginning and do some more reading on Linux commands me thinks.
Ill get back to you in a day or so. haha.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
