Yes it’s possible, but not ideal - happy to answer any questions you may have on it!
I am currently using alarmdecoder which does support ser2sock and it works nicely.
The problem is that I am moving my networking and raspberry pi into a control panel OK in the garage. I guess it works be best to just mount the z-stick outside the panel.
