ZWave Device Aeon labs range extender 6 not recogniced

I have a new zwave device that is not being recognized.

Z-Wave Node 9 (0086:0004:0075:1.2)
Unknown Device
zwave:device:158b570972e:node9

It is the new Aeon labs range extender 6.
Tryed to add it to zwave database from the xml but it only update the existing Aeon labs range extender.
Any suggestions to what i am doing wrong?

Here is the start to the xml file.

<node>
  <deviceClass>
    <basicDeviceClass>ROUTING_SLAVE</basicDeviceClass>
    <genericDeviceClass>REPEATER_SLAVE</genericDeviceClass>
    <specificDeviceClass>BASIC_REPEATER_SLAVE</specificDeviceClass>

  <nodeId>9</nodeId>
  <version>4</version>
  <manufacturer>0x86</manufacturer>
  <deviceId>0x75</deviceId>
  <deviceType>0x4</deviceType>
....

Can you provide the rest of it as well ;).

Absolutely, here it is.

Have you hade time to look at this?

Sorry - no I’ve not. Given this is only the range extender though it’s not going to actually do anything - it will just add the name.

http://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/zwave/zwave-device-database/zwave-device-list/devicesummary/527

I’ve now added it to the database but it needs parameters etc adding - if you are able to add this it would be appreciated.

Thank you.
I have now added the parameters, associationGroups and securedCommandClasses. But i do not now how to set up parameter 255 correct.
It needs value 0x55555555.

0xFF (255)
1, Value = 0x55555555、Default = 1、Size = 4
Reset to factory default settings and removed
from the z-wave network
2, Value = 0、Default = 1、Size = 1
Reset all configuration parameters to factory
default settings

I would suggest to add 2 parameters -:

1, Value = 0x55555555、Default = 1、Size = 4
Reset to factory default settings and removed
from the z-wave network
2, Value = 0、Default = 1、Size = 1
Reset all configuration parameters to factory
default settings

and set them both to write only…

You’ll get an error/warning in the database as the size is different - ignore that and I’ll sort it out…

In the first parameter 255 i can not remove the Option value “Reset all configuration”.
And i can not set the Option Value “Reset to factory default” to 0x55555555.

If you want to remove it, just set it to “DELETE ME” or something and I’ll remove it. Values must be specified in decimal - to set a value of 0x55555555, use 1431655765.

Thanks.

Hi @chris! I don’t know if my recent issue is related to the problem in this thread. I used my Aeon range extender for several weeks. Today I updated my snapshot installation to the most recent version. After a reboot, the extender doesn’t seem to respond anymore. In Habmin, I could only delete the thing. So I did and also deleted the xml.

After a new discovery the thing was found, but now it’s an unknown device:

Z-Wave Node 15 (0086:0004:0025:1.6)
Unknown Device

Unfortunately, no xml was yet created.

As the device is mains powered, it should fully initialize within seconds.

Do you have any suggestions?

One more thing (I just noticed):

My range extender obviously is another device, not the one mentioned here. Mine seems to be:

http://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/zwave/zwave-device-database/zwave-device-list/devicesummary/66

But maybe exactly this is the problem as there is an error in the device definitions according to your DB?!

The error in the database just means there are no channels defined since it’s a range extender, and therefore doesn’t do anything (right?).

I would try to restart the binding - just in case it’s related to the inbox issue.

Thanks for your fast response @chris!

Right! I only thought that because of this message in your db:

This device has received the following updates since the last review. Note: Review can not be performed until all errors are removed!

the device probably isn’t fully implemented in your db at the moment. But this assumption could be wrong of course.

I just did. Unfortunately, it’s still an unknown device. The log says:

2017-03-13 09:06:46.793 [WARN ] [wave.discovery.ZWaveDiscoveryService] - NODE 15: Device discovery could not resolve to a thingType! 0086:0004:0025::1.6

Any further ideas?

Currently it’s not exported from the database as there are no channels. The database doesn’t allow me to export devices that don’t have channels - I should change that so we can export this device, but that is why it’s marked as unknown. However, since it doesn’t do anything it won’t impact on the operation of the network - it will work fine, but just not be listed as a thing…

Ok, I understand. Thanks Chris!

Hey chris, did you ever change the database so that you can export devices that don’t h ave channels? I just included an Aeon Labs Range Extender 6 into my network and it shows as an unknown device:

Device discovery could not resolve to a thingType! 0086:0104:0075::1.2

I couldn’t find this ID anywhere, although there is one almost identical to it with ID 0086:0004:0075. Does that mean this once is a small revision of that one?
