For some reason nI can not change my properties for any wave thing? In the paper UI I see that properties are available but when editing I can only change the name and location of the thing nothing more?

Any suggestions?

You need to elucidate more.
What controller? What devices? Are they fully discovered?
Since things did not go as planned did you follow the binding instructions and post debug logs?

This is correct - it is not possible to change the properties of a thing.

I was unsure whether they were referring to an openHAB Thing or the more general English definition of the word. That was definitely a poor choice of terms when openHAB was first developed.

Well, I’m not sure. While it is a little confusing in some ways, it came from the term “Internet of Things” - so OH also coined the term a “Thing”. I think it makes sense, but it is a bit confusing at times…

Anyway, properties can’t be changed - whatever the name is

I thought IoT was Internet of Trash… At least that is usually the security result. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Looking at the discussion yes I do need to elucidate more, so here it goes

I am talking about the Z-Wave Things, I see a 500, Internal server error. Path taken: Paper UI -> Configuration -> Things -> [A zwave thing] -> Edit
When i do that I see a quick notification of a 500 error.
As far as I know the device/thing is fully discovered, even deleted one a did a rediscovery, same issue

In the log I see the attached stacktrace.
Openhab.log (9.7 KB)
events.log (10.7 KB)

Just for your information I have used the script to add a snapshot version of the ZWave bindings but since then upgraded to the latest release. (see a previous question of me)

apt list --installed | grep openhab
openhab2/stable,now 2.5.3-1 all [installed]

I asked about the particular device because we have over 1100 device entries in our database. It can be difficult to generalize.

Thanks.

Chrome 's caching can be troublesome at times. You could also try with HABmin to see if you get the same errors.

Same issue, although i dont see the error. Tried safari as well. Thing is I dont see the stack trace now?

Could it be that with the manual install of the zwave binding file and the upgrade I broke something? A reinstall with a restore is quickly done…

Did a delete install and restore all good now!

Would you mind sharing your exact steps. Been having this issue for a few days now.
