All questions and discussions around the initial installation of openHAB.
Hi everybody,
I am new to OpenHab and hope to get some help from you.
Harware : Raspberry Pi 3 - connected via ethernet
Install Image : openhabianpi-raspbian-201804031720-gitdba76f6-crc9e93c3eb (latest stable version)
I followed the online documentation for a basic installation.
The connection, ssh and the html access work.
When I go to the dashboard to start the initial setup and klick on any of the four packages - nothing happens…
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi,
again - I found my stupid mistake:
I had to turn off my my scribt blocker (NoScribt) - which makes absolutly sens - now everything works like a charm.
Thanks

I repost my post in another topic:
Hi,
I wanted to start from a clean installation, I downloaded the image file of openhabian and the installation constantly stops always, reporting:
Installing Java Zulu 32-Bit OpenJDK…
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
FAILED
openHABian] Initial setup exiting with an error!
I try to install from openhabian-config but always error:
Installing Java Zulu 32-Bit OpenJDK…
$ wget -nv -O /tmp/openhabian.kOD2D/zulu8.tar.gz
http://: Invalid host name.
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
FAILED
Is there an official solution to solve the problem or at the moment the installation with openhabian is impossible?
Thanks.
Dear Kai
I want to install openhab2 on windows 8.1, but karaf could not finish the installation at first time.

Hi, I am still a bit noob here and do apologise if I am raising this in the wrong place.
I have recently migrated from OH2.5 running on a Pi (openhabian) to OH3 on Synology Docker, so far so good. I did however just come across something which I thought might be worth bringing up to potentially add to the docker deployment (again sorry if i am in the wrong place for this).
On failing to ping a device outside of my LAN (using the OH network binding) I came across the necessity to
apt-get install iputils-ping
which allowed the Openhab Network binding ICMP and ARP capabilities. Would is iputils-ping something that could be added to the Openhab container deployment?
Regards
