Aeotec ZWA021 Radiator thermostat

Hello,

my Aeotec Radiator thermostat ZWA021-C is recognized as unknown device.
As Z-Wave controller I’m using Aeotec ZW090-C.
I think the ZWA021 is similar to Spirit model. Could you please add ZWA021 to the database.

Manufacturer ID: 0371
Manufacturer: Aeotec Limited
Product: ZWA021 Thermostatic Valve
Product ID: 0015
Product Type: 0002

Your device is already in the database…

Since it is battery powered, you will need to wait for it to wakeup several times to complete initialization. Or, you can wake it up manually. The Type:ID of your device matches the Spirit, so there is no way to tell them apart, unless there is a difference in firmware.

I woke up the the device several times but nothing happens. After 2hr still nothing.
Under Domoticz it is discovered without problem.
How can I check FW version ?

I think Chris is working on a database issue for that device.

Forgot to ask… @Greg2k, what version of OH?

That is the Spirit. I thought that was the one he was working on.

Am I misremembering?

EDIT: I am wrong. It is the Eurotronic Spirit that has issues.

Different type:id

ZWA021 requires binding 2.5.0 or later.

@5iver, I have installed OH 2.5.10.
I have OH in docker container.

Specification:

In xml file the device is saved as:

homeId 0xc5b4c6c8
nodeId 2
version 4
manufacturer 0x7fffffff <----- ???
deviceId0x7fffffff <---- ???
deviceType 0x7fffffff <---- ???

Maybe the problem is my Aeotec ZW90 Z-Stick ?

In OpenSmartHouse database ZW90 is set as AeonLabs (0086)

but my ZW90 is from Aeotec (Vendor=0658, Product=0200).

Controllers do not need to be set in the database. Some are there just for convenience but, I believe, the binding does not use that data,

Aeotec uses / used both names. In other words, Aeon Labs is Aeotec. The manufacturer ID is embedded in the formware of the Z-Wave controller or device.

The database uses a combination of Manufacturer ID, Device Type, Device ID, and sometimes firmware version to differentiate devices.

Hi,

since OH3 release is out, ZWA-21-C is recognized correctly.
Problem resolved

Hi,

I have the Aeotec ZWA021-C and unfortunately it is not recognized correctly.
I’m using OpenHAB3 with Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5.
It keeps logging:

NODE 12: Device discovery could not resolve to a thingType! Manufacturer data not known.

Any hints what could be wrong?

Regards
Pawel

That is a battery operated device and needs to be woken up several times to complete device discovery.

Yes I know. But It’s been more than 24 hours since I performed inclusion and installation.
Shouldn’t be enough?

Not if you did not keep waking up the device. Just letting it sit does not work.
