All Fritz AVM Items have status unknown

Platform information:
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Plus Rev 1.3
- OS: Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) Linux 4.19.66-v7+
- openHAB version: 2.5.~S1560-1
Issue of the topic: All my Fritzdects have status unknown, although configuration is correct…

I can log into the fritz box with those credentials and the rights are set with smart home to on… so this should not be the issue.
In the fritz box all devices look perfectly normal, have a green light, report all values … the ains in the config are correct, i double checked everything…
This started when i wanted to try a few groups in the fritzbox, to control multiple thermostats the same way. Now i have removed all groups, went back to previous configuration and the still report UNKNOWN.

I tried disabling, back enabling the items… nothing seems to fix it. Does someone maybe have a clue whats going on ?

If your FRITZ!Box recently rebooted the connection between openHAB and the FRITZ!Box is lost.
To reestablish the connection uninstall the AVM binding and install it again…

hmm, ok, i removed the binding and installed it again, but still the same stuff, box gets online, all fritzdects are unknown status…

they did work before with exactly the same settings, but at some time they just turned unknown and now i dont know how to bring them back, since i didnt change anything in the configs at all.

Did you find a solution for that Issue?

I have the same problem, but it appears only for 3 out of 7 thermostats (all 7 worked before, I removed them, re-installed them, reinstalled the Fritz binding and so on - all works fine in the Fritz-UI, but Status is unknown at openhab…)

Some update for anybody who faces the same issue:

I uninstalled the fritz- binding, removed all item-files regarding the fritz-devices, re-installed the fritz-binding, and created the item-file again (with the vs-code plugin), device by device. Now it works all again - not sure, what caused the problem.

Got the same problem. Installed a new instance of Openhab via openhabian on a Raspi 3. Installed the AVM Binding, created .things …

Deleted my .item config and reinstalled the binding various times like korny suggested. Obviously, there is a connection to the Fritzbox but the DECT 301’s are only discovered by the PaperUI - the config way does not work, at least for me. Can anyone help? At the moment, I am installing an ioBroker docker for testing purposes because smartheating is a feature I really want to use… but would love if I could stick to Openhab.

Retried again. Works with adding the things via the PaperUI and using a config for the items. But still… is there any way to get the devices running without the PaperUI?

It looks that the binding is a little bit buggy. I recognized that all values from channels will be shown as unknown when the fritzbox name has been changed!

After a reset of the name the binding will work correctly again. In case you are not allowed to empty this value you can set it to “fritz.box”. That works in my case.
